LwaCas13a (C2c2) Nuclease

LwaCas13a (also known as C2c2) is a crRNA-guided RNA endonuclease dependent on crRNA alone, originating from the Leptotrichia wadei strain. It can specifically recognize and cleave target single-stranded RNA, with relatively lenient requirements for the PFS sequence. Additionally, Cas13a exhibits trans-cleavage activity (i.e., collateral cleavage activity). Upon formation of a ternary complex comprising LwaCas13a protein, crRNA, and target RNA, the enzyme is activated to cleave non-specific sequences of single-stranded RNA in the system, breaking down any sequence of single-stranded RNA. This activity has also been utilized in the development of rapid detection kits for target nucleic acids.

Description

 

LwaCas13a (also known as C2c2) is a crRNA-guided RNA endonuclease dependent on crRNA alone, originating from the Leptotrichia wadei strain.
