Low‑Swelling 3D Printing Bioink
Description
Hydrogels are highly hydrophilic three‑dimensional polymer networks and have become promising candidates for 3D bioprinting due to their excellent biocompatibility. However, conventional hydrogels tend to exhibit significant swelling upon water absorption, which can reduce mechanical strength, compromise printing fidelity, and even cause tissue damage when implanted in vivo. Swelling also negatively affects the dimensional accuracy of printed structures.
The Low‑Swelling 3D Printing Bioink is a sterile, ready‑to‑use formulation designed for DLP and LCD bioprinting. It is composed of acrylated four‑arm PEG/PPG (4arm PEG/PPG‑AA), methacrylated hyaluronic acid (HAMA), the photoinitiator NAP, a photoabsorber, and a phosphate‑buffered aqueous solution. By incorporating the moderately hydrophobic PEG/PPG‑AA component, this bioink effectively suppresses hydrogel swelling, ensuring high printing precision and structural stability. This optimized formulation provides a reliable platform for fabricating accurate, durable, and biologically compatible 3D constructs.
