Description
The High-Activity Cell Cryopreservation Solution is a proprietary, serum-free, animal component–free cryopreservation medium with a defined composition. It enables efficient and rapid cell freezing without the need for programmed cooling. The solution contains multiple protective agents that prevent intracellular ice crystal formation, reduce extracellular electrolyte concentration, and limit cation influx, thereby preserving cell viability during freezing.
Features
- Broad applicability: Suitable for a wide range of mammalian cell types, especially stem cells and primary cells.
- Long-term preservation: Enables stable cryopreservation at –80 °C for over 5 years.
- Defined, serum-free formulation: Free of serum and animal-derived components, minimizing risks of contamination by bacteria, viruses, or mycoplasma.
- GMP-grade production: Manufactured under GMP conditions with rigorous testing for mycoplasma, endotoxin, osmolality, pathogens, and pH to ensure safety and reliability.
- Ready-to-use design: No need for programmed cooling; cells can be directly frozen after suspension.
Protocol
- Digest and collect cells into a centrifuge tube; pipette to obtain a single-cell suspension.
- Centrifuge at 1000 rpm for 5 minutes at room temperature; discard supernatant and collect the pellet.
- Add an appropriate volume of cryopreservation solution (e.g., ~1 mL for a confluent T25 flask or 6 cm dish) to achieve a cell concentration of 5 × 10⁵ – 1 × 10⁷ cells/mL. Mix thoroughly to form a homogeneous suspension.
- Aliquot into labeled cryovials, 1–1.5 mL per vial.
- Place cryovials directly into a –80 °C freezer for long-term storage.
Notes
- For recovery, thaw cells using standard methods, but dilute the cryopreservation mixture with an equal volume of culture medium before centrifugation.
- For transfer to liquid nitrogen storage, keep cryovials at –80 °C overnight before moving them into liquid nitrogen tanks.
- Inspect packaging upon receipt; contact us if damaged.
- Supplied sterile; maintain aseptic conditions during use to avoid contamination.
- For research use only.
