Description

Interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1α) is a non-secreted proinflammatory cytokine primarily produced by activated macrophages, as well as neutrophils, epithelial cells, and endothelial cells.

It plays a central role in immune regulation and exhibits metabolic, physiological, and hematopoietic functions. IL-1α and IL-1β bind to the same receptor and share similar biological properties.

The mature IL-1α sequence is 60–70% conserved across species, and human IL-1α is biologically active on murine cell lines.

Recently, IL-1α has also been applied in cosmetic and dermatological formulations to support dermal structure and function.

Reconstitution

• Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening

• Use within 1 week if stored at 4 °C

Storage

• 4 °C: stable for up to 3 years

• Room temperature: stable for at least 2 weeks

Note: Avoid microbial contamination after reconstitution.
