This interaction allows antibodies to activate the immune system. By binding to various cell receptors and complement proteins, the Fc region mediates different physiological effects of antibodies, including the detection of opsonized particles, cell lysis, and the degranulation of mast cells, basophils, and eosinophils, among other processes.
