Description
GoodColor™ Prestained Color Protein Marker (6.5-270kD) contains a total of 10 purified prestained proteins ranging from 6.5 kD to 270 kD. The 30 kD and 270 kD bands appear in red color, the 52 kD band appears in green color, and the remaining bands appear in blue color (refer to Figure 1). This marker is suitable for use as a protein molecular weight standard in SDS-PAGE or Western blotting. It is particularly well-suited for Western blotting, as it allows for clear visualization of the transfer efficiency after membrane transfer.
Please note that the molecular weight bands ranging from 6.5 kD to 270 kD are specifically designed for use with regular Tris-Glycine gels. This is because the dye carries a charge, which can affect the migration rate of prestained protein bands in different gel systems and thus influence the apparent protein molecular weight. The indicated molecular weights of the prestained color protein molecular weight marker are calculated by comparing them with natural unstained standard proteins.
This product provides two red bands (30 kD and 270 kD) and one green band (52 kD), which facilitate rapid and accurate identification of the protein molecular weight standard bands.
The product offers a total of 10 distinct bands ranging from 6.5 kD to 270 kD. The bands are well-defined, covering a wide molecular weight range, and enabling comparison of both small and large molecular weight proteins.
The prestained color protein molecular weight marker is pre-formulated in 1X SDS-PAGE sample buffer. It can be directly used after thawing and thorough mixing at room temperature, without requiring high-temperature heating or boiling. High-temperature heating or boiling is strictly prohibited.
Depending on the size of the loading wells, it is generally recommended to load 3-5 μl (3 μl for 15-well gels and 5 μl for 10-well gels) of the prestained color protein molecular weight marker per lane. This will allow for clear visualization of the protein molecular weight standard bands during electrophoresis, after electrophoresis, or after membrane transfer.
Precautions
- The prestained color protein molecular weight marker should not be heated or boiled at 100°C, and should not be heated above 40°C. It can be directly used after thawing and thorough mixing at room temperature. Boiling for 5 minutes can cause approximately 50% of the bands to degrade or lose color.
- The prestained color protein molecular weight marker is prepared in 1X SDS-PAGE sample buffer and is not suitable for non-denaturing PAGE gels.
- The molecular weight sizes of the prestained protein molecular weight marker may vary between batches, which is considered a normal occurrence. Please refer to the accompanying manual for precise molecular weight information.
- The actual band patterns obtained may differ slightly from the illustrated image due to factors such as polyacrylamide gel concentration, electrophoresis buffer, pH, etc.
- Low-concentration polyacrylamide gels may not detect small molecular weight bands such as 6.5 kD. All bands can be observed only when the gel concentration is greater than 12% (Tris-Glycine gel).
- This product is intended for scientific research purposes by professionals only. It should not be used for clinical diagnosis or treatment, food or drug purposes, and should not be stored in residential areas.
