HEX Phosphoramidite | 1360547-55-2
Description
HEX Phosphoramidite is a fluorescent labeling reagent widely used in the synthesis of oligonucleotides. It incorporates a hexachloro-fluorescein (HEX) dye into DNA or RNA sequences, providing strong yellow-green fluorescence. This makes it particularly valuable in multiplex assays, where it is often paired with other dyes such as FAM or TAMRA to enable simultaneous detection of multiple targets.
HEX exhibits an excitation maximum around 535 nm and an emission maximum near 553–556 nm, producing a bright signal with minimal spectral overlap with fluorescein. It is typically introduced at the 5′ end of an oligonucleotide during automated DNA/RNA synthesis, though internal labeling is also possible with specialized chemistries.
