Description

Tris-MOPS-SDS (referred to as MOPS) is a white to pale yellow quick-dissolve pellet. Each bag of MOPS quick-dissolve pellets can be used to prepare 1 L of 1× MOPS buffer, making it easy and convenient to use. MOPS primarily consists of Tris, MOPS, EDTA, and SDS. In 1× MOPS buffer, the concentration of Tris is 50 mM, MOPS is 50 mM, EDTA is 1 mM, and SDS content is 0.1%.

MOPS buffer is a commonly used protein gel electrophoresis buffer in biological experiments. It is suitable for general SDS-PAGE protein electrophoresis, especially when used with Bis-Tris gel systems. When combined with Bis-Tris protein gels, it is suitable for electrophoresis of medium to large-sized proteins.

Components

• Tris-MOPS-SDS: 50 Pouches (50×1L)

Protocol

1. Measure approximately 600 ml of distilled water and add it to a beaker. Place a magnetic stir bar inside the beaker.
2. Position the beaker on a magnetic stirrer and slowly add the entire contents of one pouch of MOPS quick-dissolve pellets. Stir the solution until it is completely dissolved.
3. Add distilled water to the MOPS solution from step 2, bringing it to a final volume of 1 L, making it 1× concentration.
