Description
Mouse IgG Agarose (Mouse IgG Agarose Gel), also known as Mouse Normal IgG Agarose, Mouse IgG IP Agarose, or Mouse IgG Affinity Gel, is composed of high-quality, unlabelled non-specific mouse IgG covalently coupled with agarose. This product is typically used as a negative control in immunoprecipitation (IP), co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP), and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) experiments involving mouse-derived antibodies, such as Anti-Flag Affinity Gel.
The mouse IgG in this agarose gel is normal mouse IgG, which is an unlabelled non-specific IgG.
This Mouse IgG Agarose Gel can help exclude non-specific binding of IgG itself and other proteins or biomolecules, thereby reducing background noise or serving as a negative control.
Features
This product has low non-specific adsorption and high IgG binding capacity: each milliliter of settled gel contains approximately 5 mg of IgG (compared to the typical range of 1-2 mg per milliliter). This high IgG content makes it very effective for pre-cleaning to remove non-specific binding before immunoprecipitation with specific antibodies. Additionally, this agarose gel does not recognize any antigens. For optimal use, please refer to the recommended amount of antibody-conjugated agarose gel for the immunoprecipitation of target proteins or other molecules.

This product is a 50% gel suspension, with the total volume corresponding to the packaging volume. Each milliliter of this product contains 0.5 ml of gel sediment.
Storage
Store at -20°C, with a shelf life of one year.
Precautions
Before use, thoroughly resuspend the product by inverting it several times to ensure even mixing.
This product contains trace preservatives that do not affect the purification and immunoprecipitation of routine proteins or protein complexes. However, if subsequent enzyme activity assays are involved, it is advisable to wash the gel three times with an appropriate solution like TBS to eliminate any potential interference from the preservatives.
During immunoprecipitation or purification, it is recommended to set up positive and negative control groups.
After collecting protein samples, it is best to complete the purification process as soon as possible and keep the samples at 4°C or in an ice bath to minimize protein degradation or denaturation. To effectively inhibit protein degradation, a suitable mixture of protease inhibitors can be added to the protein samples.
High concentrations of DTT, β-mercaptoethanol, guanidine hydrochloride, etc., may affect the non-specific binding of this product.
If centrifugation does not completely remove insoluble material from the protein samples, the sample solution can be filtered using a 0.45 μm filter membrane.
