  • Enhanced Safety The stain’s unique large oil-based molecules (molecular weight >1000) prevent penetration into cells. At gel staining concentrations, it does not exhibit EB-like mutagenicity, making it a safe alternative to carcinogenic ethidium bromide (EB) for nucleic acid staining.
  • Superior Compatibility Fully compatible with GoodView™ Red and GoodView™ Green, GoodView™ Ultra Nucleic Acid Stain works seamlessly with UV imaging systems, laser imaging devices, and blue light instruments. It shares spectral properties with EB and SYBR Green, eliminating the need to change filters or imaging setups—both standard EB and SYBR filters are suitable.
  • Visible Bands on PAGE Gels DNA bands can be observed with the naked eye in polyacrylamide gels without requiring excitation light (UV or blue light).
  • Optimal Migration Unlike small-molecule EB, which quickly diffuses out of the gel and makes small DNA fragments difficult to visualize, GoodView™ Ultra Nucleic Acid Stain maintains clear, uniform staining across all fragments.
  • Accurate Quantification Ideal for nucleic acid sizing and quantification—overcoming EB’s inaccuracies in quantifying small DNA fragments.
  • Uniform Staining Ensures consistent staining during electrophoresis, maintaining a uniform gel background. EB can cause uneven backgrounds with bright and dark regions, and prolonged or long-distance electrophoresis results in EB signal loss. GoodView™ Ultra Nucleic Acid Stain eliminates these issues.
  • High Sensitivity Suitable for electrophoretic staining of DNA fragments of various sizes, with minimal impact on nucleic acid migration compared to SYBR Green I.
  • Excellent Stability Remains stable in agarose gels prepared using microwave or heating methods, and maintains integrity in both acidic and alkaline buffers at room temperature.
  • Strong Light Resistance Can be stored under normal laboratory conditions for up to 24 months at room temperature.
  • High Signal-to-Noise Ratio Produces strong fluorescence signals with minimal background noise. The sample brightness is noticeably stronger than EB, which often results in elevated gel background and uneven contrast.
  • Simple and Efficient Use Used exactly like EB—does not degrade in pre-cast gels or during electrophoresis. Post-electrophoresis staining requires only 30 minutes, with no need for destaining or washing.
  • Wide Application Range Suitable for both pre-electrophoresis gel staining and post-electrophoresis soaking methods. Compatible with agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis for dsDNA, ssDNA, or RNA staining.

 

Storage

It can be stored for 24 months at room temperature, protected from light.
