Description
Exosomes are small vesicles (30-150 nm) containing RNA and proteins, secreted by cells, and abundantly present in various bodily fluids such as blood, saliva, urine, breast milk, and tissues. They are considered to function as intercellular messengers, transferring their cargo of effector molecules or signaling molecules between specific cells. However, their structure, cargo composition, and the biological pathways they are involved in are not yet fully understood.
Biological research on exosomes necessitates the isolation of intact exosome particles. Traditional ultracentrifugation methods for isolation are cumbersome, require high hardware specifications, and are challenging to perform.
