Anti-Flag Magnetic Beads, also known as Anti-Flag Immunomagnetic Beads or Flag Antibody Magnetic Beads, are covalently coupled with high-quality Flag mouse monoclonal antibodies and nano-sized amino magnetic beads. They can specifically bind to proteins containing the Flag tag in lysates, serum, ascites, and other samples derived from animals, plants, or microorganisms. These beads are used for immunoprecipitation (IP), co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP), or purification of fusion proteins or protein complexes carrying the Flag tag.
Flag-tag, Myc-tag, HA-tag, His-tag, GST-tag, and other commonly used tags are widely used in expression vectors. Fusion expression with these tags enables convenient detection of the target protein and its interacting partners and facilitates the purification of the target protein.
The Flag tag is a peptide consisting of eight amino acid residues (DYKDDDDK). It can be genetically fused to the 5' or 3' end of the target gene using recombinant DNA technology to express the target protein with the Flag tag. The Flag tag offers several advantages: it usually does not interfere with the function of the target protein, and it can be easily detected, localized, and purified using Flag antibodies, Anti-Flag Magnetic Beads, or Anti-Flag affinity gels. The N-terminal Flag tag can be cleaved by enterokinase (EK) to obtain the target protein without any residual tag. Due to these advantages, the Flag tag has been widely applied in various aspects of protein expression, purification, identification, protein-protein interactions, and functional studies.
Anti-Flag Magnetic Beads, also known as Anti-DYKDDDDK Magnetic Beads, can specifically bind to fusion proteins carrying the Flag tag. They can be conveniently applied in immunoprecipitation, purification, and other experiments involving fusion proteins or protein complexes with the Flag tag, using magnetic separation devices such as magnetic racks.
