The virus recovery rate can reach up to approximately 90%, and the virus concentration can be increased by 10-100 times after concentration. Description

Universal Virus Concentration Kit (also known as Universal Virus Precipitation Kit) is a simple, rapid, and efficient kit for the concentration of various common recombinant viruses. This kit can be used for the concentration of multiple common viruses without the need for ultracentrifugation or column concentration. The virus recovery rate can reach up to approximately 90%, and the virus concentration can be increased by 10-100 times after concentration. Composition

  • Virus Precipitation Reagent (4X)
  • Virus Resuspension Solution
  • Virus Protection Reagent (10X)

 

Feature

  • This product has a wide range of applications. The kit can be used for the concentration of laboratory-packaged lentivirus, retrovirus, adeno-associated virus (AAV), adenovirus, baculovirus particles, and other viruses in appropriate samples.
  • The product is easy to use. Simply mix the virus precipitation reagent (4X) with the virus-containing supernatant at a ratio of 1:3, incubate at 4°C for a period of time, centrifuge, discard the supernatant, and resuspend the virus with the virus resuspension solution provided in the kit.
  • No ultracentrifugation is required. There is no need for lengthy centrifugation using an ultracentrifuge. Centrifugation at 3500×g for 0.5-1 hour in a standard refrigerated centrifuge is sufficient to obtain virus particle precipitation.
  • The product offers high virus concentration efficiency. Methods such as ultrafiltration and ultracentrifugation typically involve lengthy procedures and are prone to contamination with cell debris and serum proteins, resulting in low virus purity. With this product, virus titers can increase by 10-100 times, the virus recovery rate can reach up to approximately 90%, there is minimal virus loss, and virus biological activity is maintained during concentration.
  • The concentrated viruses can be effectively preserved. The kit provides virus protection reagents, ensuring better preservation of the concentrated viruses with a slower decline in virus titer during storage.

 

Storage

Stored at -20°C, valid for one year. Virus Precipitation Reagent (4X) valid for one year when stored at 4°C, while the Virus Resuspension Solution is valid for six months when stored at 4°C.

 
 

Notes

  • After storage at -20°C, precipitation may occur upon thawing of the Virus Precipitation Reagent (4X). It can be completely dissolved by heating in a 37°C water bath for 30 minutes or longer before use.
  • When concentrated viruses are subsequently used to infect cells or tissues for cultivation, it is recommended to add the Virus Protection Reagent to the Virus Resuspension Solution. However, if the viruses are intended for animal experiments, it is not advisable to add the Virus Protection Reagent to the Virus Resuspension Solution.
  • To avoid virus inactivation, both the virus supernatant before concentration and the concentrated virus should be thawed and refrozen as few times as possible.
  • Serum in cell culture medium can assist in virus precipitation and concentration. If the cell culture medium used for virus packaging is serum-free or low-serum medium, or if virus needs to be concentrated from a solution with low protein content, it is recommended to add sterile BSA to a final concentration of 3% during virus concentration. This significantly improves the concentration efficiency.
  • This product is intended for scientific research by professionals only and is not to be used for clinical diagnosis or treatment, food or drug applications, or storage in residential homes.
