Description

Tris-HEPES-SDS (referred to as HEPES) is a white to off-white quick-dissolve pellet. Each pouch of HEPES quick-dissolve pellets can be used to prepare 500 ml of 1× HEPES buffer, making it easy and convenient to use. HEPES primarily consists of Tris, HEPES, EDTA, and SDS. In 1× HEPES buffer, the concentration of Tris is 50 mM, HEPES is 50 mM, EDTA is 2 mM, and SDS content is 0.1%.

HEPES buffer is a commonly used protein gel electrophoresis buffer in biological experiments. It is also frequently used in biochemical diagnostic reagent kits, DNA/RNA extraction reagent kits, and PCR diagnostic reagent kits. It is non-toxic to cells.

Components

• Tris-HEPES-SDS: 100 Pouches (100×500mL)

Protocol

1. Measure approximately 300 ml of distilled water and add it to a beaker. Place a magnetic stir bar inside the beaker.
2. Position the beaker on a magnetic stirrer and slowly add the entire contents of one pouch of HEPES quick-dissolve pellets. Stir the solution until it is completely dissolved.
3. Add distilled water to the HEPES solution from step 2, bringing it to a final volume of 500 mL, making it 1× concentration.
