Description

Tris-Glycine-SDS (referred to as TGS) is a white to pale yellow quick-dissolve pellet. Each pouch of TGS quick-dissolve pellets can be used to prepare 1 L of 1× TGS buffer, making it easy and convenient to use. TGS primarily consists of Tris, glycine, and SDS. In 1× TGS buffer, the concentration of Tris is 25 mM, glycine is 192 mM, and SDS content is 0.1%. TGS buffer is commonly used as an electrophoresis buffer for SDS-PAGE.

• Tris-Glycine-SDS: 50 Pouches (50×1L)

Protocol

1. Measure approximately 600 ml of distilled water and add it to a beaker. Place a magnetic stir bar inside the beaker.
2. Position the beaker on a magnetic stirrer and slowly add the entire contents of one pouch of TGS quick-dissolve pellets. Stir the solution until it is completely dissolved.
3. Add distilled water to the TGS solution from step 2, bringing it to a final volume of 1 L, making it 1× concentration.
