TE primarily consists of Tris and EDTA, and 1× TE buffer contains 10 mM Tris-HCl and 1 mM EDTA, with a pH of 8.0 at 25°C.

Description

Tris-EDTA (abbreviated as TE) is a white quick-dissolve pellet. Each pouch of TE quick-dissolve pellets can be used to prepare 1 L of 1× TE buffer, making it easy and convenient to use. TE primarily consists of Tris and EDTA, and 1× TE buffer contains 10 mM Tris-HCl and 1 mM EDTA, with a pH of 8.0 at 25°C.

TE buffer is commonly used as a solvent or storage solution and is often employed for the preservation and dilution of DNA or RNA.

Components

  • Tris-EDTA (pH 8.0): 100 Pouches (100×1L)

 

Protocol

  1. Measure approximately 600 ml of distilled water and add it to a beaker. Place a magnetic stir bar inside the beaker.
  2. Position the beaker on a magnetic stirrer and slowly add the entire contents of one pouch of TE quick-dissolve pellets. Stir the solution until it is completely dissolved.
  3. Add distilled water to the TE solution from step 2, bringing it to a final volume of 1 L, making it 1× concentration.
