Description
This reagent is used to measure the concentration of thrombomodulin (TM) in human plasma. TM, when bound to thrombin, reduces the procoagulant activity of thrombin and enhances the activity of activated protein C. Activated protein C possesses anticoagulant properties, and therefore, TM is an important endogenous inhibitor of intravascular coagulation, shifting thrombin from a procoagulant to an anticoagulant state. The role of TM in regulating thrombus formation is highly complex. It modulates the balance between procoagulant and anticoagulant processes at various levels and acts as a cell adhesion molecule, participating in the regulation of tumor cell proliferation and invasion.
Principal
TM in the sample binds to the TM antibody in reagent R1, followed by binding to the TM antibody in reagent R2, forming an antibody-antigen-antibody complex. The complex generates a luminescent signal through the aminoluciferin label on the TM antibody in reagent R2. The intensity of the luminescent signal is directly proportional to the concentration of TM in the sample within a certain range. By measuring the intensity value and referring to the calibration curve, the TM content in plasma can be calculated.
