Description

TBS is a white to off-white quick-dissolve pellet. Each pouch of TBS quick-dissolve pellets can be used to prepare 1 L of 1× TBS buffer, making it easy and convenient to use. The primary components of TBS include sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and Tris buffer salt. In 1× TBS buffer, the concentration of sodium chloride is 137 mM, potassium chloride is 2.7 mM, and Tris buffer salt is 25 mM.

TBS is an isotonic buffer solution commonly used in biology. It is primarily used in immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), and immunoblotting experiments. TBS is often used as a washing buffer and for antibody dilution and blocking solutions.

Components

• TBS: 100 Pouches (100×1L)

Protocol

1. Measure approximately 600 ml of distilled water and add it to a beaker. Place a magnetic stir bar inside the beaker.
2. Position the beaker on a magnetic stirrer and slowly add the entire contents of one pouch of TBS quick-dissolve pellets. Stir the solution until it is completely dissolved.
3. Add distilled water to the TBS solution from step 2, bringing it to a final volume of 1 L, making it 1× concentration.
