Poliumoside, a caffeoylated phenylpropanoid glycoside, is extracted from the stems and leaves of Brandisia hancei. It exhibits notable properties as an inhibitor of advanced glycation end product (AGE) formation and rat lens aldose reductase (RLAR), with IC50 values of 19.69 μM and 8.47 μM, respectively. Additionally, Poliumoside showcases anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

In Vitro Study

Poliumoside effectively inhibits AGE formation and RLAR, boasting IC50 values of 19.69 μM and 8.47 μM, respectively. Furthermore, in vitro studies demonstrate its capability to inhibit AAPH-induced hemolysis of rat red blood cells within a concentration range of 5-30 μM over a 3-hour period. Moreover, when pre-treated for 2 hours with concentrations ranging from 12.5 to 100 μM, Poliumoside effectively suppresses the release of TNF-α and IL-6 in LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells.

 

In Vivo Study

Poliumoside suppresses vessel dilation in larval zebrafish.

Storage

Store at -20°C for at least one year. The solid powder is stable at 4°C for at least one month. If dissolved in a non-DMSO solvent, it is recommended to aliquot and store at -80°C for up to six months.
