Description
DNA-Free Alkaline Phosphatase (Shewanella) (ShAP) catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate monoesters but does not hydrolyze phosphate diesters or triesters. It can be irreversibly inactivated by heat treatment at 70℃ for 15 minutes.
Our DNA-Free enzymes are all recombinant proteins and purified through multiple steps, devoid of genomic and plasmid DNA from the production strain.
Unit Definition
One unit of activity is defined as the amount of enzyme required to hydrolyze 1 μmol of p-nitrophenyl phosphate to p-nitrophenol per minute at 37℃ and pH 9.8 under 1× Alkaline Phosphatase (Shewanella) reaction buffer conditions.

- Completely free from bacterial DNA.
- Colorimetric reactions of alkaline phosphatase, including enzyme-linked immunodetection.
- Pre-treatment of PCR products for sequencing when combined with Exonuclease I. Note: Not recommended for dephosphorylation of vectors used in ligation reactions. For such needs, please select AE1802A/B, AE1803A/B, AE1807A/B based on your specific requirements.
- Removal of 5’ phosphate groups from DNA molecules.
- Active between 20-60℃.
- Irreversibly inactivated by heating at 70℃ for 15 minutes.
Storage
Store at -20℃ for up to 2 years. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
