Description

VTrans™ Virus Transport Medium contains protein denaturant, which can inactivate virus and bacteria by degrading viral envelope and other protein structures, thus assure the safety of transportation and personnel detection. The samples stored in this medium can be used for subsequent nucleic acid extraction by commercial RNA extraction kits (e.g. VirusMag™ One-Step DNA/RNA Isolation Kit) or other experiments. This medium is ideal for relevant studies of diseases related to viruses.

Features

• After collection, the viral nucleic acid in the sample can be stored at room temperature for up to 1 week, which makes it easy for transportation and storage, and greatly reduces the cost of refrigeration.
• The preservation medium can inactivate the virus, which addresses the biosafety concerns in the process of sample transportation and experimental operation after collection as well as ensures the safety of transportation and researchers.
• After the preserved samples are extracted by commercial RNA extraction kits, various gene detection and analysis experiments can be performed, such as RT-PCR, RT-qPCR, NGS, SNP, etc.
