Description
Total Oxidant Status (TOS) Colorimetric Assay Kit is suitable for detecting the total oxidative status in cell, tissue, and serum samples, as well as other liquid samples.
Detection Principle
Under acidic conditions, oxidative substances in the sample can oxidize Fe2+ to Fe3+, which then forms a blue-purple complex when combined with phenolphthalein. Within a pH range of 2-3, the maximum absorption wavelength is near 590 nm, and the intensity of coloration is directly proportional to the concentration of oxidative substances within a certain concentration and time frame, thereby indirectly determining the total oxidative status of the sample. When detecting tissue or cell samples with this reagent kit, it is necessary to measure the total protein concentration. We recommend using our company's BCA reagent kit for this measurement.
Storage
Store between 2-8°C and protect from light exposure. The product can be stored under these conditions for up to three months.
