Description
Total Antioxidant Status (TAS) Colorimetric Assay Kit is suitable for the determination of total antioxidant status (TAS) in serum (plasma), urine, animal and plant tissues, and cell supernatant samples.
Detection Principle
ABTS is oxidized to green-colored ABTS+ under appropriate oxidizing agent conditions. In the presence of antioxidants, ABTS+ is reduced to colorless ABTS. The change in absorbance of ABTS+ at a wavelength of 660 nm can be measured to determine and calculate the total antioxidant status in the sample. Trolox is an analogue of vitamin E with similar antioxidant properties and is used as a reference substance for total antioxidant status
Storage
Store at -20°C and avoid exposure to light. The product can be stored under these conditions for up to six months.
