Description
T4 gp41 DNA Helicase is one of the three major helicases encoded by T4 phage genome. It is a replication helicase, that is, it can guide the extension of the DNA leading strand under the action of DNA polymerase (T4 gp43) after unwinding. Gp41 helicase belongs to SF4 helicase family, preferring the 5'- 3' direction. In addition to unwinding, gp41 can also form an initiating complex with gp61 primase to guide the synthesis of the lagging strand. Therefore, gp41 protein is necessary for the synthesis of DNA leading strand and lagging strand, and this characteristic of gp41 is significantly enhanced in the presence of its loader gp59 protein. Gp41 is a highly progressive helicase, with a transport rate of ~500nt/s on ssDNA and a speed of ~250bp/s on dsDNA. The product is a recombinant protein obtained by cloning and recombinant expression.
