Application
Octyl beta-D-glucopyranoside has been used for:
- Washing agarose gel beads at different concentrations to study albumin-shFcRn interactions in the presence of octyl beta-D-glucopyranoside.
- As a solubilizing and solubilization solution for bacterial lipoprotein preparation.
- Dissolving recombinant 47 kDa antigen from E. coli cells.
- As a component of lysis buffer for protein content detection using the BCA assay.
- Deglycosylation processes.
- As a component of lysis buffer for preparing mitochondrial extracts.
- As a non-ionic dialyzable detergent for dissolving and separating membrane proteins, shown to improve protein separation in 2D gels.
