KODP DNA polymerase enables fast PCR with an extension time of 5-10 sec/kb. The polymerase generates blunt-end PCR products because of the 3’ → 5’ exonuclease (proofreading) activity of KODP DNA polymerase, which shows approximately 50-fold higher fidelity than Taq DNA polymerase. Therefore, KODP DNA polymerase provides greater efficiency and elongation capabilities than conventional PCR enzymes.
