Description

Hoechst 33342 Staining Solution for Live Cells (100X) is a staining solution designed for nuclear labeling of live cells. After only 10 minutes of staining, intensely bright blue fluorescent staining of cell nuclei can be visualized under a fluorescence microscope.

This product is also suitable for nuclear staining of fixed cells or tissues.

Hoechst 33342, also known as bisBenzimide H 33342 or HOE 33342, has a molecular formula of C₂₇H₂₈N₆O·3HCl·3H₂O, a molecular weight of 615.99, and a CAS Number of 23491-52-3. The maximum excitation wavelength of free Hoechst 33342 is 346 nm, with a maximum emission wavelength of 460 nm. Upon binding to double-stranded DNA, its maximum excitation wavelength shifts to 350 nm, and the maximum emission wavelength becomes 461 nm.

Hoechst 33342 is a cell-permeable blue fluorescent dye with low cytotoxicity.

Hoechst 33342 staining is widely applied in apoptosis assays, with detection performed via fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry after staining. It is also routinely used for general nuclear staining and conventional DNA labeling.
