Description

GalNAz, or N-azidoacetylgalactosamine, is a chemical compound derived from N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc). It plays a vital role in bioorthogonal chemistry and glycobiology research, particularly in the labeling and visualization of glycoconjugates.

This molecule contains an azide group, which makes it reactive in click chemistry reactions, such as copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) and strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC).
