Description

FII Magnetic RNA-Protein Pull-Down Kit utilizes a 16-nt RNA tag, "F2," which binds to the target RNA. Through the strong affinity of the specific ligand attached to the F2 tag and fixed on magnetic beads, the target RNA is efficiently retrieved along with associated proteins. Subsequently, specific proteins can be detected using Western Blot, or unknown proteins can be identified using mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).

 

Applications

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are a powerful and widely distributed class of regulatory factors, comprising about 5%-10% of all cellular proteins. While a few RNAs function independently as ribozymes, most RNAs exert their functions by forming RNA-protein complexes through binding with proteins. On one hand, RBPs are involved in RNA regulation, and on the other hand, RNA can regulate RBPs. The FII Magnetic RNA-Protein Pull-Down Kit can be applied to several research areas, including:

  • Regulation of RNA activity, transport, and localization;
  • RNA stability, translation, and degradation;
  • RNA synthesis and alternative splicing;
  • RNA modifications;
  • Activity, localization, or interactions of RBPs with other proteins.
