Sulfolobus DNA polymerase IV can incorporate incorrect bases during DNA replication, leading to base mutations. Additionally, it can cause template base slippage, resulting in base deletions. Due to its low fidelity, it is suitable for error-prone PCR to increase the random mutation rate.

Description

DNA-Free Sulfolobus DNA Polymerase IV is a thermostable Y-family DNA polymerase capable of bypassing DNA damage during replication, thus synthesizing DNA using various damaged DNA templates. Sulfolobus DNA polymerase IV can incorporate incorrect bases during DNA replication, leading to base mutations. Additionally, it can cause template base slippage, resulting in base deletions. Due to its low fidelity, it is suitable for error-prone PCR to increase the random mutation rate.

Our DNA-Free Sulfolobus DNA Polymerase IV is a recombinant protein and purified through multiple steps, devoid of genomic and plasmid DNA from the production strain.

 

Unit Definition

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to incorporate 10 nmol dNTP into acid-insoluble material within 30 minutes at 55℃ in 1× Polymerase Buffer.
