Description
Anti-GST Magnetic Beads, also known as Anti-GST immunomagnetic beads or GST antibody magnetic beads, are formed by covalently coupling high-quality monoclonal antibodies against GST with nano-sized amino magnetic beads. They can specifically bind to proteins containing GST tags in animal or plant cell lysates, serum, ascites fluid, and other samples. As a result, they are used for immunoprecipitation (IP), co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP), or purification of fusion proteins or protein complexes carrying GST tags.
GST tags (GST-tag), Flag tags (Flag-tag), Myc tags (Myc-tag), HA tags (HA-tag), and His tags (His-tag) are some of the most common tags found on expression vectors. Fusion expression with these tags allows convenient detection of target proteins and their protein-protein interactions. It also facilitates the purification of target proteins.
GST tags, specifically glutathione S-transferase (GST) tags, are fusion tags that can be attached to the N-terminus or C-terminus of a protein. GST itself is an important transferase enzyme involved in detoxification, with a molecular weight of approximately 26 kDa. In bacterial expression systems, GST tags are commonly fused at the N-terminus. GST tags offer several advantages: they enhance the solubility and expression level of the recombinant protein, can be expressed in various hosts such as E. coli and yeast, have a wide range of applicability, preserve the antigenicity and biological activity of the protein, protect the recombinant protein from degradation by extracellular proteases, and improve its stability. If a site-specific protease recognition site, such as PreScission Protease, TEV Protease, or Thrombin, is present between the GST tag and the target protein, the GST tag can be cleaved using the corresponding protease, facilitating its removal. GST tags are highly specific, making purification convenient and gentle. As a tag protein, GST allows subsequent detection, localization, and functional analysis of the target gene through GST antibodies or Anti-GST magnetic beads. GST tags have been widely used in various aspects of protein expression, purification, identification, protein-protein interactions, and functional studies. While GST purification columns are commonly used for purifying GST-tagged proteins, Anti-GST Magnetic Beads offer a simpler and more convenient approach for applications such as purification and immunoprecipitation of fusion proteins or protein complexes carrying GST tags.
Anti-GST Magnetic Beads specifically bind to GST-tagged fusion proteins and can be easily applied to immunoprecipitation or purification of fusion proteins or protein complexes carrying GST tags using magnetic separation devices such as magnetic racks.
